Turn your eyes to the sky for stargazing and astronomy at Aston Hall!
Join us and the Birmingham Astronomical Society to celebrate National Astronomy Week in the beautiful grounds of Aston Hall. Chase the Moon across the Birmingham skyline as it passes a treasure trove of planets and winter constellations. Have a go at looking through a telescope and discover what’s waiting up there!
For guaranteed stars, step into our pop-up portable planetarium and enjoy a guided tour of the night sky with star-gazing expert Colin Hutcheson. Plus, Thinktank experts will be on hand with family-friendly activities and space object handling!
It’s an unforgettable evening under the stars—don’t miss it!

Event information
- You are welcome to arrive from 4pm for star gazing and other activities.
- The time slot booked is for your planetarium show and cannot be changed, this is due to limited space in the dome.
- Planetarium shows last approximately 30 minutes, this includes a short safety briefing and time getting in and out of the planetarium.
- We have a Planetarium Social Story to help you prepare for you visit.
- Please dress for the weather and wrap up warm.
- Please note the use of telescopes and binoculars outdoors is subject to weather conditions.
