This collection dates from the late Middle Ages to the 20^th century and elements were amongst Birmingham’s earliest acquisitions, serving as inspiration for local craftsmen.

Our examples of 17^th century silverware are of considerable importance in European art history. The collection contains gifts and purchases from collectors of international standing, such as Ann Hull-Grundy and Stefano Bardini, which are now split between national and international museums around the world.
