Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery is a Victorian landmark building that provides a unique and sophisticated venue for your wedding or civil partnership.

The Grade II* listed building is central location in the heart of Birmingham makes it an ideal venue for your guests. We can accommodate your civil ceremony, your reception or your whole celebration.

Weddings take place in the Waterhall at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. This is on Edmund Street, just around the corner from the main entrance on Chamberlain Square.

Your Ceremony

The Waterhall is licensed for civil ceremonies so you can say your vows in a bright and airy venue with high ceilings, stunning architecture and fine art adorning the walls.

Our capacity for civil ceremonies is up to 120 people.

Civil Ceremonies in the Waterhall include:

  • Exclusive hire of the Waterhall for a three hour period
  • A private room to meet with your Registrar
  • A dedicated wedding coordinator on hand to ensure your ceremony goes perfectly
  • All necessary furniture and arrangement of chairs for your guests
  • Use of designated areas in the museum for photography

You can choose to book the Waterhall for just your civil ceremony or we can take care of your entire special day. Whatever works best for you!
