Aston HallVolunteering at Aston Hall
Aston Hall is a Jacobean mansion and our largest heritage site which has a sizeable volunteer team to match.
Volunteers at Aston Hall are our Heritage Interpreters who welcome visitors to the Hall on a daily basis. These wonderful volunteers work as a team to deliver the Aston Experience, an interactive visit to the Hall which includes object handling so it’s a really engaging role and chance to learn a great deal about this majestic property.
On weekends and during the holidays our Heritage Interpreters help us to open the Hall for visitors to wander at their leisure. We call this Open Aston and volunteers are always there to help with questions and engage with visitors.
You can come and volunteer at Aston as much or as little as you like. Some of our team come and volunteer multiple times a week, others drop in once or twice a month. Many of the team also get involved with our event days and also help with the work going on behind the scenes too. Our Historic Needlework Group volunteer team meet at Aston Hall to work on exciting embroidery projects across the year. You can see them on most Tuesdays when you visit and they are very happy to chat about their work.
Every summer we also run our Summer Heritage Assistant volunteer programme. These volunteers support us for five days over the summer holidays and help with welcoming visitors, supporting events and get a chance to see behind the scenes too; it’s a great way to get a taste of volunteering with us!
We are extremely grateful to have an amazing volunteer team at Aston Hall.
